The shopping capital of south London

Croydon has a proud history of being south London’s shopping capital, something about to be reinforced thanks to a £1.5billion investment from retail giants Westfield and Hammerson.

Such was the potential both saw in Croydon that they set aside their rivalries to take over the Whitgift Shopping Centre to join together in an unprecedented partnership which will transform the offer in the town.

They are committed to creating an upmarket destination, on a similar scale to the Westfields at Stratford and White City, which will restore Croydon’s historic status as one of the UK’s top shopping venues.

You only need to look at the impact those schemes have had an their surrounding areas to understand the impact of benefits that having London’s third Westfield will bring to Croydon when it is completed in 2021.
